English for Specific Purpose
The importance of English as an international language is widely acknowledged (Naisbitt and Aburdene, 1990). English as an international language continuously increases as more and more people are wanting or being required to learn and master English for different purposes (Richards, 1985). In this era of globalization and the coming of the 21st century, the needs of mastering English is strongly felt, for example governments are introducing mass education programs with English as the first and sometimes only, foreign language. Also, the growth of business and increased occupational mobility in the 21st century is reuslting in a need for English as a common medium of communication, access to much scientific and technical literature, and tough competition in the work force.
